Wow! Seeing as we're only a few days away from July,
I think its about time I write my June update!
In summary: June has been the busiest, hardest, and yet most wonderful
month so far in this first year. Hence why I'm only just now writing!
The short and long of it:
~Tomorrow morning I have my final exams here at language school!
~Tomorrow night I'll be playing and singing with our group from church in a community music festival.
Pray
for the gospel message to be clear and for good contacts to be made!
~This weekend I say hello to life in my first
apartment ever, and goodbye to the Marshalls as they leave for the
states for about 6 weeks.
~Last day of school is Tuesday the 26th when I'll have to say goodbye to many wonderful friends.
~This past month or two have been filled with
amazing opportunities and challenges: from a weekend retreat with the
youth (what amazing french practice!); to a ladies spring tea held just
this past Saturday where a powerful testimony was shared to an
audience with a few unsaved ladies; to some one-on-one ministry
opportunities that have been stretching, challenging, but definitely
rewarding; and of course the ever challenging language learning
process.
~As I mentioned before - I have my car! Praise
the Lord for this tool that I've already been able to use quite a bit!
For those interested, its a used
Peugeot 307
, at a price that even the dealer was amazed by. Merci Seigneur!
~I do have my apartment in Châlons as mentioned,
so now I start the furniture hunting. There's room for you, so come
visit! :) Pictures to come once it looks a little less... empty!
Remember, I have pics HERE
Sometimes I write more HERE
And you should be my friend HERE
;)
PRAYER:
Praise
the Lord for all that was mentioned above... how abundant are God's blessings?!
Pray
for finishing school strong.
Praise
the Lord for the much welcomed summer break coming up next week!
Pray
for my getting settled in Châlons while the Marshalls are gone.
Praise
the Lord for many new contacts we've had in Châlons lately.
Pray
that I'll take advantage of ministry opportunities while not trying to do too much!
So thankful for you all, and hope you're enjoying
the start of your summer. I leave you with this reminder that
I've started memorizing in French. (but I'll share it with you in
English) ;)
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us...
Therefore we do not lose heart.
Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
17
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
II Corinthians 4:7;16-18
If you're interested in reading the Bible in French, check out BibleGateway.com
They have two French translations: Louis Segond,
and La Bible du Semeur. Both good, I personally have been reading
Semeur - it's a little more currant.
Ciao! ~Amy
