"I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will
have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in
my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and
to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean
fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am
torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is
better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the
body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue
with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that through
my being with you again your joy in Christ Jesus will overflow on
account of me."
Philippians 1:20-26
~ Hello again from France!
I'm writing this update just hours before I get on a plane headed for Dayton, Ohio!!!
Don't worry, I'm not burnt out!
:) In fact I'm doing quite well and am continually amazed at God's
blessings - even the painful ones. ~
I'm coming home for the funeral of my grandfather, Bill West.
He went home on Friday to be
free from the pain and suffering of this world , and to step into the
presence of our creator! For which I'm jealous, but to live is
Christ...
Grandpa accepted the Lord just a
few years ago. The Lord has used him in huge ways in my life. I want
to be there for my family who'd like me to participate in the funeral
(Wednesday) and I want to be able to testify to the many unbelievers
who will be there - what an opportunity!
So I thank God that He has opened the doors for me to be able to go - His timing is perfect - even in death.
This past month has flown by!
(granted its the shortest of the year... but still!)
- God is blessing me abundantly
at school with learning tons, and enjoying it! and also with great
friends - something I didn't really expect - but I know people have
prayed specifically for - thank you!
- I'm getting to know the people
at church on a much more deeper level as I can communicate more and
have spent time in their homes for Bible studies, prayer meetings,
youth events, meals, etc.
- Our little music team
continues to grow as they faithfully come to practice as we strive to
glorify God and encourage the congregation.
This month is starting off a little(!) unusually
as I'll be home for a week for the funeral. Plus, the Marshall's are
in the states till early April. John and Bev Mitchell, retired but oh
so active in ministry, are filling in for them.
On the 24th I'll be helping
with an evening for the young adults. One of the guys in the church,
Paul-Gab, will be leading a Bible study. We have these evenings once a
month... I'm not sure where many of the young people stand in regards
to salvation/or walk as believers... pray for this opportunity... its
so exciting to have this ministry with them!
PRAYER:
- praise God for the past full month of language study and ministry in Châlons
- praise God for continually teaching and molding me
- praise God for the opportunity to go and be with my family for the funeral
- pray for the funeral - that the truth would be clearly presented and that hearts would be convicted
- pray for me as I make up school work when I get back
- pray for the 24th and our ministry with the young adults
As always there is so much more
I would love to share!!! While home I'm going to work on updating my
website and getting pics online for all to see!
Thank you all for your encouragement and support - thanks for holding the ropes! :)
